Time for a Change

There are some new and exciting things happening here at I Heart Accessories! For those of you who follow my posts and updates, you know that I love to love. Everything I do is fueled by my passion to serve my customers and make people happy.  In return, day in and day out, I am greeted by the most amazing people who have been so incredibly loyal and loving of the company I have created.  I have said it before but, you are the reason I do what I do, and I sincerely love all of you. 

Now - With love, comes growth, and with growth, comes change – so it is with great excitement that I share with you my plans for I Heart Accessories in the upcoming months.  After some very long and careful consideration, I have decided to lead I Heart Accessories in a new direction.  Our new plan includes new lines, a wider selection of quality items at much lower prices than we are currently able to offer, and a wholesale division which will allow us to partner with other businesses, as well as service our retail customers.  

Of course, with all of these doors opening comes one that will be closing. I have decided to continue our sales to the public via our online boutique only, which will be facilitated through my studio space along with my other endeavours. Although it is hard to say goodbye to our adorable brick and mortar, and the smiling faces we see every day, this decision was made based on the vision I see for the future of this company, and the reasons I started to build this business in the first place.

This naturally will come as a surprise to many, however not too much of a disappointment, I hope. I am making it a personal commitment to make our merchandise just as, if not more accessible than it is right now for our customers, with personal consultations, pop-up shops, and events around the city, and I look forward to keeping you abreast of these as they arise.

In the meantime, you can find us at 2646 Yonge St. for one more week until July 1^st, where we are clearing out everything in the shop (including our shelving and display items), for next to nothing.  

Also, if you haven’t done so already, please join our mailing list by entering your email on our website.  We want to keep you in the know of all that we’re doing and send some gift cards and promo codes directly to your inbox...who doesn’t love that?

Again, from the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every single person who has walked through our door, and/or visited our website in support of this business for the past three years. I hope that you will continue to be adorned by the fabulous pieces we carry and know that it is all brought to you with bursting-at-the-seams love. Nothing is over. It is all just beginning.

Beautiful People, Thank You.

I had a warm and fuzzy emotional moment today. I'll get right to it. Our customers are the best. We have so many loyal, beautiful people that visit our website, comment on posts, shop in our store and come back week after week to support us. It is because of you, that we do what we do. It's not just the transaction that keeps us in business, but the incredible relationships we have formed with so many of you. I don't even care that it's a million degrees outside, and this weeks hugs have been the warmest ever. It doesn't matter. I am grateful, and I will hug you if I want to.

Mother's Day Sidewalk Sale!

This weekend, we celebrate the strong, the brave, the multi-taskers/talented, the ones who have it all under control, who have spit-up on one lapel and a fancy brooch on the other, the ones we love the most - Our Mamas!

Even better? The Uptown Yonge BIA has decided to celebrate them as well! This weekend, there will be a fun-in-the-sun side walk sale on Yonge St. starting at Eglinton and going all the way up to Lawrence. Shops will have sales inside and out, and food vendors will be handing out delicious treats. This is seriously the best time ever to come and visit this awesome neighbourhood. PLUS, we're offering Buy One Get One Half Off everything in the shop!

There's nothing like getting to know and supporting local business, while getting great deals and spending time with the ones you heart. Am I right? Take your mom, she'll love it.

A Beautiful Shoot in the Neighbourhood

Last week, I Heart Accessories had the pleasure of collaborating with two of our friendly and stylish neighbours; Phi and Me, and FÊTE Boutique on an upcoming promo that will be advertising our spring goodies. You Make My Week

Here's something that is the best ever. People buy our accessories, wear them, love them and it makes them happy. Really, that's why we do what we do.  When I'm in the shop and a customer comes in saying "I LOVE your store! This is so ME!" there is an instant sense of "this is all so very right".

Even better? When those customers send us their pictures of them wearing pieces they've bought from us. I kid you not when I say that this is THE BEST thing to ever happen in my week when it does. Look how many fabulous weeks I have had lately thanks to our amazing customers.

Our customer Colleen purchased this Headmistress fascinator from us, and we were able to also find her a matching birdcage visor veil for her wedding. Gorgeous! 

Our amazing customer Lisa was swooning over this watch and we were so happy when she finally chose to take it. Layered with some cute bracelets, this is the perfect look for Spring.

Last but certainly not least, the beautiful little Victoria wearing a Headmistress Headband, which was gifted to her recently. She was happy to pose for a pic wearing her new favourite accessory.

How To Tie a Headscarf

Hair accessories are huge again this Spring, with an emphasis on colourful fabrics and bohemian styles. If you have a closet full of scarves but only one neck to tie them around, wearing them on your head gives them a whole new duty. Oh So Cosmo came by a little while ago to capture Natalie, owner of I Heart Accessories show us how to tie headscarves. Which one will you try?

Who do YOU love?

Well, it's official. February is upon us. The month some people love, and some people love to hate. With hearts, flowers and cupids all around, it either makes you gush with love, or want to poke the next person who says "awww" in the eye.

We hear ya...and although we are all about the love and mushy stuff, we think it's equally important, if not more, to show love where it matters most. To yourself.

As Buddha put it: 

You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection. 

Self-love is my thing this year. As much as I have an abundance of love and affection from my Mr., I know that in order to truly be happy, that love must come from within. In an effort to stop being so hard on myself, take pride in the things I have done, and pat myself on the back every once in a while, I've realized it's not selfish to sometimes be selfish. It's essential. 

So - If you're feeling the same, I encourage you to take all the Love Day hoopla and run with it. Be inspired to love YOU. Indulge in a spa day, get a new hair style, or buy yourself something pretty.   We've got that last one covered - which hasn't been a challenge with all the amazing, meaningful pieces that have been spotted on our shelves lately.
